• Are You Flirtatious, Fearless, Factual, or Friendly?

You Are Flirtatious

You are outgoing, talkative, and incredibly social. You love swapping stories and jokes.

You're optimistic and enthusiastic. You're both good at being a cheerleader and at cheering people up.

You are a very charming person. You make connections easily, and you love harmless flirting.

Sometimes your charm can turn against you. People tend to think you're a better friend than you actually are.

Let me review:
  • Optimistic?  Check
  • Enthusiastic?  Double check!
  • Outgoing?  Oh yeah!
  • Cheerleader?  Check
  • Charming
  • Makes connections with other
Yes, that definitely sounds like me!  I am Golden, hear me ROAR!

You Are Caramel deLites / Samosas

You are blessed with a brilliant, dynamic mind. It's sometimes hard to figure out what your focus should be.

You're the type of person who does almost everything well. You are very competent but also unfocused.

You're not an easy person to pin down. You are vibrantly complex.

You have many facets to your personality, and they're often in competition with one another.

I continue to follow the Carolina Hurricanes. I watched them on Friday but yesterday's game was not on TV.

Mom and Dad went to see them in person though, and Mom promised that if Ruutu scored, I'd get a special treat. My favorite player came through for me. He got an assist and Mom said that counted so I got a treat! A really good one too!

Matt Cullen, one of my other favorite players, is really coming on. He had a hat trick which is scoring three goals all in one game. How cool is that? Matt is even one of the three stars on NHL.com today!

I am also liking Jussi Jokinen a lot, not just because he has a way cool name either! He's not the cutest but he's a really good player. Oh, and Chad Larose -- he's doing great too! Chad was one of the three stars of the game. Go Canes!

You Are Very Warm

You are kind, caring, and empathetic. A lot of warm energy radiates from you.

And it's not an act - you truly like people. You get a charge from people being around you.

You are are easy going and very socially adaptable. You're willing to overlook peoples'quirks.

You enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and helping them if you can. Giving makes you feel good.

I really like these quizzes.  They always seem to totally nail me.   The ice cream quiz described me as "outdoorsy and gluttonous"  (yes and yes).   The evilness quiz said that I am "So good, that you make evil people squirm" and I can agree with that.  I am good!   Now this one says that I am kind and caring (what's empathetic again?).  Anyway, I think that it describes me.  How cool is that?

Monday poem

Running chasing fast
rabbit hops, dashes away
Mom calls.  I return.

Be Mine

Happy happy Valentine's Day!

I wanted to take the time to let my Public know how much I care for them.

Peace, love and cookies!

When Mom says that I'm special, I'm not sure that she means that in a good way.

Your Pizza Says:

You are a gluttonous eater. You love to eat, and you will go for anything that's over the top.

You love to eat a lot of foods. In fact, the toppings on your pizza are a full meal... without the pie!

Pizza Topping You Should Try: Barbeque chicken

Stay Away From: Any pizza that claims to be healthy or virtuous

It's been a busy weekend.  I am happy that the Hurricanes are back at home now.  The west coast road trip resulted in a lot of missed treats.  The Hurricanes scored seven, yes SEVEN goals against the Coyotes and I missed out on some of the third period ones -- including the one by Rutuu.  I'd blame Dad but I fell asleep too.

This weekend was warm but not too warm for my fluffy golden fur and that was nice.

Monday poem

Remove squeakers; stuffing
Quiet now

I fell asleep on Hannah's bed in the living room and missed the Hurricanes game last night. We all missed the game because it was a west coast game so no treats but I saw the my favorite player, Tuomo "Roo Roo" Rutuu, had a goal and I have to acknowledge that here -- especially since it was a shoot out goal. (tell Mom that I will accept belated treats).

Samsonov, Cullen and Whitney also scored. Cullen scored on a penalty shot which is always kind of neat.

P.S. I tried to watch Rutuu's goal on NHL.com because they keep on advertising that every single goal in the whole world is online there but I guess they don't count shootout goals. Boo.

Blaze

I just found out that Blaze has a blog!  He's a puppy so his Mom and Dad write it.

(I stole the photo from Blaze's blog.  Visit him!)

Today is Superbowl Sunday -- a great big party and I think that there might be a football game involved too.

I am pulling for the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Let's face it, Pittsburgh has way better food traditions than Phoenix.  Pittsburgh is the home to Heinz ketchup, the Klondike bar, pierogies, my beloved Snyder's pretzels (which I love because Mom had them when she was at Shippensburg).  Pittsburgh is also home to the Primanti Brother's sandwich which I am dying to try.  Fries are right on the sandwich!   To me, these are comfort foods.  How could I not pull for the Steelers?

Last night the Hurricanes played Atlanta.  Victory treats.  Woo hoo!

I forgot how much I like Matt Cullen.  All season he's been playing better and better.  He reminded me by getting an assist (treat!) and a goal (another treat!) last night.  I like him a lot but how can Rutuu not be my favorite.  Roo! Roo!

Cullen went into the boards at the end of the game yesterday and when he left the ice he was kind of holding his arm funny.  I hope that he's OK.

You Are 6% Evil

You are good. So good, that you make evil people squirm.

Just remember, you may need to turn to the dark side to get what you want!

See Mom!  I knew I was good!  I knew it!

I confess to the following:
  • I've kissed someone I shouldn't be kissing -- I still think that Everyone Loves Goldens.  Doesn't everyone want my kisses?  They should!  I think that it is them -- those people who do not want my kisses -- who have a problem.
  • I've killed a bug   -- No explanation here.  I ate it too.
  • I've shoplifted or stolen from someone -- If they put the stuff at PetsMart at dog level and invite me in, what am I to think?   Clearly it's for me if they set it out like that.

Tonight I watched the Carolina Hurricanes play the New York Rangers. The beginning of the game was uneventful but Ryan Bayda scored about halfway through the first period while I was watching.  Mom said,"Woo hoo!" and Hannah and I each got a treat.

Tuomo Rutuu, one of my favorite players, got an assist on Bayda's.   I like Rutuu a lot.  I especially like it when everyone goes "Roo!" when they see him.  I can go Roo!

Then, in the third period, Rutuu scored.  I was so excited!  Another treat for me!

Oh, no victory treat tonight.  The Hurricanes scored twice but the Rangers scored three times.  Bummer.

Monday poem

This morning I worked on removing the squeaker from Hannah's toy.  I love to remove squeakers and normally do that promptly.  I think that Hannah may have hidden this toy from me though because I know that it's been in the house for a while now and somehow the squeaker remained intact.

Dequeaking completed.

Last week I wrote about my fears of being contaminated by unsafe peanut butter. My fears were well founded.

Virginia Firm Confirmed As Source of Salmonella - WSJ.com: "On Tuesday, PetSmart Inc. recalled seven of its Grreat Choice Dog Biscuit products that contain peanut paste made by Peanut Corp. PetSmart said it wasn't aware of any cases of pets becoming ill from the products but has recalled them as a precautionary measure"

The FDA news release lists the details.

Mom made this for me using FotoFlexer.

This photo of me was taken this weekend when we had weather much colder than normal for this area.  We had a fire in the fireplace.  Good stuff.

The other day, I mentioned that I ate a clementine and that I enjoyed it.  I asked Mom and Dad to help me create a video to show you how I do this.  I love clementines.  They are very good -- sweet and juicy!

Today is Inauguration Day and in support of our new President, I have created a poster of me in the style made famous by artist Shepard Fairey.

See my other odes to the inauguration in my Presidential Gallery.

Monday poem

I feel faint
It is past dinner time
Feed me now

Oh peanut butter
Sticky goodness in my mouth
Innocent treat

Peanut butter is one of my favorite foods.  (Truth be told,  I really like most foods except for limes.  Limes are icky. )  I was horrified to hear that peanut butter is making people sick.  Two years ago ConAgra got into trouble for salmonella contaminated peanut butter and here we are again in 2009 with salmonella in our peanut butter.  People really need to be more careful with our food supply.  Innocent dogs could be harmed.  I am worried that my treats will be affected by Mom assures me that they will not be.  I know that Mom means well but with the investigations expanding, it's hard to say.   For the time being, I may need to avoid peanut butter treats.

It was pretty cold here yesterday so I lay on the bed downstairs, curled up, and started to work on a song.  This should be sung to the tune of Elvis is Everywhere.  I particularly like the part about me being a "perfect being" and the part about Emmalution.  Good stuff, eh?
Emma is Everywhere
lyrics by Emma

When I look out into your eyes out there,
When I look out into your faces,
You know what I see?
I see a little bit of Emma
In each and every one of you out there.

Lemme tell ya...
Weeeeeeeeeellllllll...

Emma is everywhere
Emma is everything
Emma is everybody
Emma is still the king

Man o man
What I want you to see
Is that the big E's
Inside of you and me

Emma is everywhere, man!
She's in everything.
She's in everybody...

Emma is in your jeans.
She's in your cheesburgers
Emma is in Nutty Buddies!
Emma is in your mom!

She's in everybody.
she's in the young, the old,
the fat, the skinny,
the white, the black
the brown and the blue
people got Emma in 'em too

Emma is in everybody out there.
Everybody's got Emma in them!
Everybody except one person that is...
Yeah, one person!
The evil opposite of Emma.
The Anti-Emma

Anti-Emma got no Emma in 'em,
lemme tell ya.

Michael J. Fox has no Emma in him.

And Emma is in Joan Rivers
but she's trying to get out, man!
She's trying to get out!
Listen up Joanie Baby!

Emma is everywhere
Emma is everything
Emma is everybody
Emma is still the king

Who built the pyramids?
EMMA!
Who built Stonehenge?
EMMA!

Yeah, man you see gals
walking down the street
pushing shopping carts
and you think they're talking to allah,
they're talking to themself.
Man, no they're talking to EMMA!
EMMA! EMMA!

You know whats going on in that Bermuda Triangle?
Down in the Bermuda Traingle
Emma needs boats.
Emma needs boats.
Emma Emma Emma
Emma Emma Emma
Emma needs boats.

Aahh! The Sailing Emma!
Captain Emma!
Commodore Emma it is.

Yeah man, you know people from outer space,
people from outer space they come up to me.
They don't look like like Doctor Spock.
They don't look like Klingons,
all that Star Trek jive.

They look like Emma.
Emma!
Everybody in outer space looks like Emma.
Cause Emma is a perfect being.
We are all moving in perfect peace and harmony towards Emmaness

Soon all will become Emma.
Everything everywhere will be Emma.
Why do you think they call it evolution anyway?
It's really Emmalution!
Emmalution!

Emma is everywhere
Emma is everything
Emma is everybody
Emma is still the king

Man o man
What I want you to see
Is that the big E's
Inside of you and me

That's right ladies and gentlemen,
The time has come!
Time has come to talk
To that little bit of Emma inside of you.
Talk to it!
Call it up!
Say "Emma, heal me!"
"Save me, Emma!"
"Make me be born again
in the perfect Emma light"

That's right!
You've got that Emma inside of ya
and she's talkin to ya
She says she wants you to sing!
Everybody's got to sing like the king!

Friday night finds me sitting patiently while Dad grooms me.  It's rough having all of this fur sometimes.  My fluffiness does have it's advantages though:

  • It's soft and people want to pet me
  • It's beautiful and people want to pet me
  • It's warm so that in the winter I'm all comfy even when it's really cold outside and Mom rides her bike in the house

I am feeling bad for Hannah.  She licked and licked and licked her leg and I told her not to do it.  Now she has an owie and Mom put green wrap on it.  Hannah was walking around like she has a broken leg or something after that.  This morning, her owie looks better so Mom is going to let her have the wrap off for now but if she starts licking, I think that she will have to wear it again.

Tonight the Hurricanes play the Sabres.  Go Canes!

Note to self:  Photoshoot

  1. Remind Mom to take pictures of me this weekend.
  2. Set up slide show with pictures of me and post to blog
  3. Decide if photos of Hannah should be included in slide show
  4. Be sure to ask to go outside as soon as Dad starts a DVD.  (He likes that.)

Red box

This morning mom was getting some movies to watch this weekend.  I guess it's too cold for her to ride her bike outside or something.  Anyway, she was going to get what she calls "stoopid movies" to watch while she is on her bike inside.  I reserved Dog Gone for her.  She should like that don't you think?  The star is clearly a lovely golden retriever.  Who wouldn't like it?

Oh, and I had a clementine this morning.  I like them.

Four Treats

Last night Mom and Dad ditched us. Mom came home and we heard John Forsland's voice. A while later, mom yelled "Woo Hoo!" and put both hands up. We all went to the kitchen and got a treat. Mom did that a few more times.

I check the paper. Matt Cullen, Tuomu Rutuu, Eric Staal, and Scott Walker scored. Thanks guys!

Dad was at the game. When he came home, Mom shoved me (how rude!) and told me to go and get him. He knows is way upstairs! Geez.
